The Opportunity
We seek a talented, experienced senior consultant/architect to join our growing team. In this role, you will be crucial in designing and migrating complex database environments to hybrid cloud environments, designing and implementing database automation with NDB, conducting assessment and health checks for database environments, as well as support sales teams in presales by assisting them in offering the best of our solutions to our customers. You will work closely with customers, engineers, partners and other consultants to ensure robust, scalable, and high-performance enterprise architectures, and work with other architects to develop new service offerings and toolkits.

You will report to the Sr. Professional Services Delivery Leader, who will guide you in your role and help you grow within the organization. Our work setup primarily allows for a remote working environment. While you will collaborate with your team virtually, we encourage flexibility that accommodates both work and personal life. However, you may be required to come into the office for specific meetings or projects based on your location. Additionally, plan for travel requirements of up to 30% to meet with clients and support project implementations, giving you the opportunity to engage directly with our customers and broaden your professional experience.
 
Your Role
  • Actively engage in billable project work, dedicating a minimum of 70% of your time to ensure successful completion.
  • Conduct customer-focused design workshops to introduce Nutanix solutions as well as to gather requirements, assumptions and constraints for design decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to find solutions and resolve technical issues.
  • Design and deploy Nutanix Database for multiple database engines (preferably SQL Server and Oracle)
  • Create design documentation using enterprise architecture frameworks and toolkits.
  • Provide pre-sales support as an expert, enhancing the sales process and delivering added value to proposed solutions.
  • Define activities, objectives, milestones, deliverables and the required effort to deliver customer business outcomes.
  • Ensure to develop a suitable database solution aligned with customer business outcomes and requirements.
  • Work with Practice Development teams, creating and improving toolkits, best practices, guides and tutorials.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and skill development within the team and among clients.
 
What You Will Bring
  • 6+ years of experience in server virtualization infrastructure or hybrid cloud.
  • 4+ years working as a database administrator, database architect or similar role.
  • Extensive experience engaging with customers as a system integrator, consulting role or similar.
  • Proven expertise in database design in public cloud, hybrid cloud or traditional 3-tier environments.
  • Significant hands-on experience performing database migrations across multiple platforms.
  • Deep experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Database (MySQL, PostgreSQL is plus).
  • Expertise building large scale, highly-available, and fault-tolerant database architectures (e.g.: MS-SQL AAG, MS-SQL FCI, Oracle RAC or Oracle Dataguard).
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize database environments.
  • Exceptional ability to whiteboard solutions and produce detailed technical documentation.
  • Ability to create and present training for coworkers and customers.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work both independently and in a team.
  • Excellent oral and written proficiency in Spanish.
  • Upper-Intermediate oral and written proficiency in English.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, and PowerShell is a plus.
  • VMware VCP-DCV, OCP/OCI or AZ-305/DP-300 certifications would be beneficial.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
 
Work Arrangement
Remote: This position is primarily remote. There is no specific in-office requirement, however, there may be circumstances where you may be required to come into a local office for a specific purpose, and/or to travel to other locations based on business needs.
